Local Growth Fund (LGF)

The LGF will deliver an ambitious programme of investment across Edinburgh and South East Scotland, driving economic growth and boosting disposable incomes across the region. This will be achieved through a number of interventions:

  • Capital funding for five Housing and Net Zero Accelerator Hubs (HaNZAH) will create flexible, regional training facilities, equipping thousands of residents with skills in sustainable construction and renewable technology.

  • Investment in employability and business support will connect people to better-paid, higher-skilled jobs across the region

  • A Regional Intelligence Hub will strengthen evidence-based decision-making for the future. 

  • The Regional Transport Strategy Delivery Plan will underpin sustainable, inclusive growth.

  • A Regional Spatial Strategy will enable long-term, cross-boundary planning on housing, infrastructure and economic development.

  • Research into the impact of AI and advanced technologies will inform regional skills and business planning.
