intensive family support service
The Intensive Family Support Service (IFSS) is a multi-agency whole family support service delivered in Edinburgh, Fife, Midlothian, East Lothian, West Lothian, and The Scottish Borders.
Delivered by six delivery partners, including Children 1st, Barnardo's, and Fife Gingerbread, each service is embedded within the local community it serves, and offers a combination of intensive, general, and specialist activities tailored to the needs of the whole family.
The service focuses primarily on workless, lone parent and low-income households, supporting adults to provide a better environment for their young people and promote progression opportunities for every member of the family.
Families engaging with the IFSS are supported to reach their full potential at their own pace, outcomes include maximising household income, increasing family wellbeing and relationships, raising attainment levels, reducing the number of those leaving school to a negative destination and increasing employment levels in those families where work has not previously been seen as an achievable goal.
